Teacher Programs
The Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation offers hands-on teacher workshops correlated to the Virginia Standards of Learning for history and social studies. Options include 17th- and 18th-century history content related to the settlement of Jamestown and the American Revolution, as well as hands-on teaching methodology and use of primary sources in the classroom. Workshops are one to six hours in length and can be customized to the specific needs of the group. Teacher resource materials are provided for each participant.

Teacher Tours
Tours designed specifically for teachers are available at Jamestown Settlement and the Yorktown Victory Center. Participating teachers will visit the exhibition galleries and outdoor living history areas. Teachers will engage in hands-on learning activities and take away enhanced knowledge of colonial history, as well as new ideas for teaching history in their classroom. Teacher resource materials are provided for each participant.
