Meetings and Conventions
If you are looking for spouse programs, family activities, corporate outings and optional activities, a visit to Jamestown Settlement and the Yorktown Victory Center may be the perfect addition to your plans.
JAMESTOWN SETTLEMENT & YORKTOWN VICTORY CENTER OFFER COMPELLING EXPERIENCE FOR CONFERENCE ATTENDEES & FAMILIES
Jamestown Settlement and the Yorktown Victory Center, two Williamsburg, Virginia, area living-history museums, offer a compelling year-round visitor experience, combining gallery exhibits with historical interpretation in outdoor re-created settings to tell the story of America’s beginnings. The two museums also are distinctive locations for after-hour events for conference attendees and their families.
Whether inside the Jamestown Settlement rotunda, with its old English-style wood paneling, copper light fixtures and oriental-design carpet, or on a tented terrace at the Yorktown Victory Center, meeting planners have an exclusive after-hours event setting for a memorable and successful gathering.
Planners have a variety of options, as well as range of fees based on the location and program. For example, participants can take a late afternoon tour of one of the history museums, followed by an after-hours presentation or film, then mingle over hors d’oeuvres in a charming setting. With indoor, outdoor or full facility rentals, attendees can return to visit the museum during their stay in the Williamsburg area.
An online promotional toolkit for planners developing after-hours events includes an invitation cover design and photo gallery, museum site map, welcome screens to recognize sponsors, and a Jamestown Settlement and Yorktown Victory Center introductory film. Details about indoor and outdoor facilities, including rental fees, are available at Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation After-Hours Facility Rentals.
In addition, several programs are available during museum hours to meeting and convention attendees and their families. Groups of 15 or more can select a multigenerational Legacy Learning program related to the historical content of both museums, a museum guided tour, or a self-guided visit at group admission rates. Another option for meeting planners is to include admission tickets with registration or sell them at the conference so that attendees can visit any time.
