Godspeed and Discovery1.jpg"Jamestown Day" commemorates the 403rd anniversary of the founding of Jamestown, America's first permanent English colony. The event is jointly sponsored by Historic Jamestowne, site of the original 1607 settlement administered by Preservation Virginia and the National Park Service, and Jamestown Settlement, a living-history museum of 17th-century Virginia administered by the Commonwealth of Virginia's Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation.

Highlights include the mid-morning arrival of the replica ships Godspeed and Discovery at Jamestown Settlement and a special ceremony with descendents of Virginia Indians and Jamestown colonists commemorating the peoples present at the 1607 founding at Historic Jamestowne.
